Crossroads Counseling Center, Inc. is accepting applications from qualified candidates (bi-lingual and non-bilingual) for the following staff positions:
Intensive In-Home (IIH) Specialist
Part or full-time position providing intensive, mental health interventions to children/youth with a mental health disorder, who are at risk of out-of-home placement or are being transitioned to home from an out-of-home placement. Provides a minimum of 3 hours of direct service per week to the child and family, in their home, based on the assessment of needs and individual treatment plan, 24/7 crisis intervention and response, therapeutic interventions and psycho-educational activities to improve the child’s emotional and behavioral management, and increase functional and interpersonal relations between the family members in the home.
Qualifications: Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field with a minimum of one year of direct clinical experience providing IIH or similar services to children/youth with a mental health disorder. Excellent documentation skills and valid driver’s licensed required.
Therapeutic Day Treatment (TDT) Specialist
Full-time position providing school-based, therapeutic services to children/youth with mental, behavioral, or emotional disorders, who may be at-risk for an out-of-home or school placement. The TDT Specialist provides services during the school-day to include a combination of individual, group and/or family psychotherapeutic interventions, medication education and monitoring, behavior management, and psycho-educational activities to develop pro-social skills (e.g. problem-solving, anger management, impulse control, peer relations, etc.). The goal for TDT is to strengthen the student’s academic, emotional and behavioral functioning to promote success at school, home and in the community. Some TDT positions also provide TDT services during the summer months.
Qualifications: Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field with a minimum of one year of direct clinical experience providing TDT or similar services to children/youth with a mental health disorder. Excellent documentation skills required.
Mental Health Skill-Building (MHSS) Specialist
Part or full-time position providing goal-directed training to enable individuals (18 years and older) with severe mental disorders to develop the skills needed to achieve and maintain their independence in the community. Training areas include: functional skills and appropriate behavior related to the individual’s health and safety; activities of daily living; use of community resources; assistance with medication management and compliance; and self-monitoring health, nutrition and physical condition.
Qualifications: Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field with one year of direct clinical experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field with a minimum of three years of direct clinical experience providing mental health services to adults diagnosed with a mental health disorder. Excellent documentation skills and valid driver’s license required.
Part-time position providing individualized attention to a child or adolescent with emotional and/or behavioral difficulties. The Mentor teaches appropriate social and behavioral management skills, role models positive interactions with others, and provides recreation and social activities for the child/adolescent based on the interests and needs of the child/adolescent.
Qualifications: Must have 1) a minimum of an Associate’s degree and experience working with children/adolescents; 2) a High School diploma with at least three years experience working with children/adolescents; or 3) be an intern or student who is currently enrolled in a human services educational program at an accredited college or university. Excellent documentation skills and valid driver’s license required.
All positions require the completion of criminal background and Virginia Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry checks.
